Scaffolding is coming down, the distillation column is nearing completion, and more than 95% of the equipment is already installed, even after a tough winter. A great example of teamwork, planning, and ex*****on as we move closer to commissioning this year.

Verbio has been honored with the ICIS Innovation Award in the category “Best Product Innovation from a Large Company.” 💚

ICIS (Independent Commodity Intelligence Services) is one of the world’s leading providers of market intelligence for the chemical industry. Dr. Andreas Kohl, Head of Specialty Chemicals & Catalysts, accepted the award in London on behalf of the Verbio and XiMo teams.

Verbio’s winning innovation is based on ethenolysis - a cutting-edge process that converts renewable, rapeseed-based feedstocks into high-value, bio-based molecules for the chemical industry. These molecules can replace fossil-derived materials and help reduce carbon emissions across the value chain.

A key enabler of this breakthrough is the advanced XiMo metathesis catalyst technology developed by our subsidiary XiMo Hungary.
As Dr. Kohl noted: “The award is a special recognition of the research and development work at Verbio and XiMo. Without XiMo’s innovative metathesis catalysts, the entire process would not be possible.”

Verbio is currently building the world’s first large-scale ethenolysis plant in Bitterfeld, Germany. Beginning in 2026, it will be capable of producing up to 60,000 tons of renewable molecules annually for applications across specialty and performance chemicals.

In Northern India fields are burning again, creating heavy smog and health risks for millions.

Every year farmers face a race against time — just a very short period between rice and wheat harvests. Without time for straw to decompose, the common solution has been burning it.

Verbio’s biorefinery in Punjab turns this challenge into opportunity. Using our advanced biogas technology, we transform agricultural residues into renewable biomethane, a clean transportation fuel, and organic fertilizer that restores soil health.

Verbio FY results 2024/2025 published:
The Verbio Group, our parent company, set new records in biofuel production with more than one million tons of biodiesel and bioethanol, plus 1,190 GWh of biomethane/RNG - even though revenue and earnings remained below last year’s levels. Higher capacity utilization was primarily due to our plant in Nevada, IA, where production has risen continuously since the beginning of the year.

The industry has faced challenges over the past two years due to mislabeled biodiesel imports and fraud in emission reduction projects, which pressured prices and GHG quota values.
Looking ahead, stronger regulations in Germany and Europe, together with growing international biofuel markets, open up exciting opportunities.

Verbio enters the new fiscal year confident and well-positioned to drive sustainable growth and innovation across global markets.
