The customer's R22 system was operating suboptimally, as indicated by the gauges showing extremely low refrigerant levels. Upon further investigation, a nitrogen pressure test revealed a leak, which was subsequently located and repaired by rerouting the suction line. During the repair, the system was pressurized with nitrogen to approximately 5 psi while brazing new fittings. Following the repair, the system was tested, evacuated to 280 microns, and isolated from the pump to conduct a decay test, which showed a drop to 250 microns after 15 minutes. The system was then charged with 6 pounds of R22, confirming the initial diagnosis of severe refrigerant depletion. Parma, OH
