Check the Air Filter

It’s important to keep your filter changed because it protects you and your HVAC system from dust and debris. The filter inside an HVAC system traps airborne pollutants and helps prevent them from circulating through your home.

If you haven’t been changing your filter regularly, now is the time to go check it. The frequency in which you need to change your filter will depend upon your personal circumstances.

If own multiple pets or live in an area with lots of pollen, dust, or pollution, then you may want to change it on a monthly basis. If you don’t use your AC often and don’t have allergies, you can get away with waiting much longer before you need to change it.

Keep Vents Unobstructed

If you want to get the most out of your air conditioner, make sure there aren’t any heavy pieces of furniture blocking any vents in your home. Heavy furniture in front of a vent can restrict air flow into your home. When a vent is blocked, it can create strain on the air conditioner and cause it to struggle to keep your home at the proper temperature.

Hey guys sorry we haven't posted in awhile. Here's one of the recent jobs we wrapped up. In the spring this newly rebuilt house will have the air conditioning hooked up but for now it was a new furnace and duct work. Didn’t have a chance to post this yesterday. Here we removed an old furnace that was missing almost everything but the shell of the unit. We then replaced it with a nice new Goodman.

It’s been a busy week. Customer was complaining that their ductwork wasn’t getting very much air flow. We ripped out the old returns and supplies and added all new metal work. Customer is happy and relaxing in a much more air efficient home.

The HVAC tip of the week. Always be sure to have your humidifier(if one is installed) set to the seasons. You want less humidity in the summer. The opposite can be said during the winter months.
