This is what is going to drive up the already high prices of a Heating and Cooling system. New "mildly flammable" refrigerant will need safety bells and whistles to keep you safe.
If your system is more than 15 years old you may want to beat the 2025 A2L conversion mandates and upgrade with a high efficiency R-410A refrigerant which will be available for many years to come.

Thank you so much Karen of Sun City West for sticking with Grand Air Heating and Cooling over the years on both your homes. I took care of the old one in the pictures for almost 10 years and with maintenance every year Karen had zero repairs needed until this last year when a few things were in need of attention and she just decided to replace it with something reliable and under a warranty.

We went with a 14 seer because my customer is only here in the winter and didn't want a high rated air conditioner when he hardly uses it.

Maintenance. It's important and here's why. It helps maintain a valid warranty, proof of maintenance helps makes the process seamless if a repair is needed. Creates longevity, let's be honest they don't make them like they used to so having it looked regularly helps finding potential small problems before they become big (expensive) problems.

These 2 split systems were installed in 2016 and 2021 and I have maintained them twice a year since then. Now a maintenance on a 3-8 year old system that I have installed is not as indepth as a system that is new to me or older than 10 years that's where it gets interesting. I have seen so much neglect that leads to costly repairs or a system that is fairly new (within 10 years) that have been neglected.
