Last week, ANAFLASH Inc. was pleased to showcase our Legato-Logic: Time-Domain Neural Network Processor IP for Low-Power, Low-Latency AI Computation at D&R IP-SoC Silicon Valley 2026 in Santa Clara.

We are grateful to GlobalFoundries for their support to fabricate the IP using GlobalFoundries’ 22 nm technology, and we were glad to share this important milestone with the semiconductor IP and SoC community. As demand continues to grow for smarter, lower-power AI at the edge, ANAFLASH remains committed to advancing next-generation semiconductor innovation that enables efficient intelligence closer to where data is created.

“A 28 nm AI microcontroller with tightly coupled zero-standby power weight memory featuring standard logic compatible 4 Mb 4-bits/cell embedded flash technology.”

Battery-powered smart edge devices need real-time inference where data is generated—without paying an energy penalty during idle. In this work, we demonstrate a 28nm AI microcontroller that enables zero-standby power weight memory using standard-logic-compatible 4-bits/cell Embedded FLASH (4 Mb), tightly coupled with a Near-Memory Computing Unit (NMCU) for cost-effective, low-power edge AI computing.

Dr. Kim brings over 40 years of distinguished semiconductor leadership, with deep expertise spanning DRAM, NAND Flash, and emerging memory technologies. An IEEE Fellow and Samsung Fellow, he held pivotal executive roles at Samsung, including Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics and CTO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the University of Michigan, and his insights continue to be invaluable as ANAFLASH innovates and scales.

It was an incredible three days—full of energy, insights, and fresh ideas—at the UKF (United Korean Founders) event. Korean startups, VCs, government leaders, and enterprise partners came together to share perspectives and discuss what’s next in technology and industry trends.

As a semiconductor startup, it was especially encouraging to meet and learn alongside other deep-tech innovators, including success stories like IonQ. The startup journey is never easy, and gatherings like UKF truly matter: they give founders renewed courage, real networking momentum, and a stronger sense of ecosystem and opportunity.

A big thank-you to Kiha Lee and Saeju Jeong for bringing together brilliant speakers, like-minded founders, and dedicated volunteers—and for hosting such a meaningful platform for the community.

ANAFLASH is proud to be conducting research projects with top collaborators at Korea’s most prestigious institutions, including SNU, KAIST, and ETRI.
Our recent papers published at A-SSCC were supported by these collaborative efforts.
These projects have given us the opportunity to work with top-tier researchers in Korea and hire students who participated in the project. Our former interns who were trained for our real-world projects are pursuing graduate research there for next-generation computing.
Building on this momentum, our executives recently visited these partners to meet in person. Thank you for hosting the visit and for the productive discussions on potential future collaboration.
