Samsung’s strong push into Processing-in-Memory (PIM) reinforces an important truth: AI’s future will not be built on data movement alone. As models grow larger and more demanding, moving data back and forth between memory and compute becomes increasingly inefficient. Samsung’s PIM approach ad...

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Future of Memory and Storage 2026 in Santa Clara.

R. Scott Hills, VP of Business Development at ANAFLASH Inc., shared ANAFLASH’s approach to time-domain compute-in-memory IP for low-power and high-bandwidth AI computation, highlighting how our architecture can address the growing need for more energy-efficient and responsive AI systems.

A special thank you to Dave Eggleston at SST for inviting ANAFLASH to participate in the SST session and giving us the opportunity to contribute to this important industry conversation.

We were also privileged to hear from two longtime leaders in the memory and storage community, Thomas Coughlin and Jim Handy, whose decades of experience and contributions to FMS brought valuable perspective on where the industry is heading. Tom has been involved with FMS since its very first conference in 2006 and has served in multiple conference leadership roles over the years. Jim has spent decades analyzing and helping the industry understand the evolution of memory and semiconductor technologies.

One takeaway particularly resonated with us: new memory technologies are inevitable, and economics will ultimately drive their adoption. Their perspective that these technologies will make sense across systems both big and small—and that embedded NOR replacement may be one of the first major opportunities—was especially relevant to the work we are doing at ANAFLASH.

As AI pushes the limits of memory bandwidth, power, and data movement, we believe the relationship between memory and compute must continue to evolve. At ANAFLASH, we are excited to be part of that evolution by bringing compute closer to memory for low-power, real-time edge AI.

Thank you again to SST, Dave Eggleston, Tom Coughlin, Jim Handy, and the FMS community for the insights, conversations, and opportunity to exchange ideas.

Last week, ANAFLASH Inc. was pleased to showcase our Legato-Logic: Time-Domain Neural Network Processor IP for Low-Power, Low-Latency AI Computation at D&R IP-SoC Silicon Valley 2026 in Santa Clara.

We are grateful to GlobalFoundries for their support to fabricate the IP using GlobalFoundries’ 22 nm technology, and we were glad to share this important milestone with the semiconductor IP and SoC community. As demand continues to grow for smarter, lower-power AI at the edge, ANAFLASH remains committed to advancing next-generation semiconductor innovation that enables efficient intelligence closer to where data is created.

Thank you to the organizers of D&R IP-SoC Silicon Valley 2026 and to everyone who joined the session and connected with us.
