*For U.S. audiences only

Aly Maggard from Richmond, Virginia, spent most of her life trying to lose weight and feeling like the world wasn’t built for her.

After da Vinci bariatric surgery in 2023, she was able to focus on building new habits. Aly is clear about the work involved: “There’s a stigma of this being the easy way out that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s a lot of dedication and a whole life change.”

Now she’s building an active routine with Pilates, swimming, and rowing, and celebrating little wins. “It's sitting in an airplane seat and the belt being loose on me. It was putting on a pair of pants that I would have never dreamed fit me. It's all of those little wins that carry me through the day.”

The individual shown is a real patient who has been compensated for sharing their experience. Individual patient experiences may vary and may not be representative or reproducible. Patients should consult their physician to determine whether robotic-assisted surgery is appropriate for them based on their individual medical condition and an assessment of the potential benefits and risks.

“Getting an unexpected diagnosis, it’ll change you. From healthy to fragile. From strong to shaken.” What comes next is a hard question for anyone to answer.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders answered it by taking control: learning about his options, asking questions, and working with his doctor to make informed decisions. He chose da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery, a minimally invasive technology trusted by surgeons around the world for more than 20 million patients.

Da Vinci was the answer for Coach Prime. Ask your doctor if da Vinci surgery is the answer for you or learn more at davincisurgery.com.

If you need surgery, it’s worth talking to your doctor to see if da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery is the answer for you. Consider asking:

• Am I a candidate for da Vinci surgery for my condition?
• How do the risks and benefits of da Vinci surgery compare with other surgical options?
• How much experience do you have with this procedure?
• How long will I be in the hospital?
• How long is the recovery time, and will I need care at home?
• What restrictions should I expect after surgery?
• Is my procedure covered by my insurance?

All surgery has risks, whether it is open, laparoscopic, or robotic-assisted. Da Vinci has been trusted by skilled surgeons for more than 25 years and over 20 million patients worldwide. But da Vinci surgery isn’t right for every patient or procedure. Your doctor can help you understand the risks and benefits based on your condition and care plan.

Surgeons have been using da Vinci for over 25 years. What’s exciting is how much the technology has advanced during that time—continually improving to help surgeons use their skills in new, powerful ways. This long history of innovation means da Vinci is a proven, trusted approach to minimally invasive surgery, helping millions of patients experience smaller incisions, less pain, and a quicker recovery for many procedures.

In 2025, Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders received an unexpected diagnosis. But that didn’t keep him off the field for very long. Coach Prime talked to his doctor and learned about da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery. That got him back in the game faster than he or his family expected.

Thank you, , for joining us last week to see a da Vinci system, the technology your surgeon used to deliver care. And for using your voice to raise awareness of da Vinci surgery for other patients.

Asking questions and getting educated about your options makes all the difference.

Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery is available at hospitals and medical centers in more than 70 countries. With over 12,000 da Vinci systems in use worldwide, a procedure begins somewhere with da Vinci technology every 10 seconds. Ask your doctor if da Vinci surgery is available at your hospital. In the U.S., the cost of da Vinci surgery is usually covered by insurance.

Surgeons see your anatomy on a screen at ten times the actual size and in 3D—giving them a much clearer view. They use flexible, nimble tools that can reach places hands simply can’t, providing advantages that aren’t possible with traditional open surgery. This helps your surgeon perform in difficult-to-reach areas. Surgeons often say it feels like being shrunk down to work from inside your body.

Surgeons choose da Vinci because it allows them to see your anatomy more clearly and move their special instruments with incredible precision. This means they can complete delicate operations through small incisions, which may result in a smoother, quicker recovery for you for many procedures compared to traditional surgery.
