Read this to save money.

We have had many phone calls after the storm from people saying their AC is not blowing cold.

Before paying to have someone come out, try this:

From your thermostat, set your AC to “off” for 1 hour.

Then turn the AC back on. This works for many people, especially after storms.

The reason this happens is that storms can cause electrical fluctuations that temporarily affect your AC system.

Turning it off gives the system time to reset and start working properly again.

Do you know the word plenum?

In your HVAC system, if you have ductwork, odds are you have at least one plenum.

This is an area where ductwork attaches onto before the air is dispersed into the home.

That means every bit of air your air conditioner puts into your house first touches the plenum.

This is the inside of a plenum that is starting to show its age. As you can see, the insulation is starting to show heavy biological growth.

This homeowner chose to replace this plenum and start fresh to help increase the air quality in their home.

If your system is new, or maybe you just had or are going to have your plenum replaced, there are indoor air quality systems including air ionization, UV lights, and all in one systems which can help to slow the production of this biological growth to help keep your air quality the best it can be.
