A slider bed supports the carrying belt on a solid bed. A roller bed supports it on carrier rollers. The shortest carton dimension is not always the dimension that crosses the rollers.

Roller spacing should be checked against the product footprint that actually travels over the conveyor. Orientation, uneven weight distribution, soft bottoms, and the gaps at transfers can change how well a package is supported. A product that looks stable on a straight section may behave differently at an interface.

Review the smallest footprint, expected orientation, and every transition before finalizing roller centers.

Start With the Contact Problem

A coated roller should solve a contact problem, not simply add another material to the conveyor.

More traction, gentler contact, quieter movement, or a non-marking surface can each point toward a coated roller. They are not the same requirement. Product bottom, incline, speed, environment, and acceptable surface contact should be reviewed before the coating is selected.
