âš¡ FLASHBACK FRIDAY âš¡

One of Tucson’s most unique landmarks — the University of Arizona’s Bryant Bannister Tree-Ring Building.

Completed in 2013, the 33,000+ sq. ft. facility became the permanent home of the University of Arizona’s Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, one of the world’s leading centers for studying tree rings and what they can tell us about Earth’s past.

🌲 The building’s design was inspired by a forest, with steel columns representing tree trunks and an exterior canopy designed to echo the shade of a forest.

Inside, researchers work with an incredible collection of tree-ring samples — including a massive slice of giant sequoia.

Mountain Power is proud to have played a part in powering this unique Tucson landmark.

Powering the places that power our community. âš¡
