Tons of turning power on the truck today.

This TDRA-200 turning roll set can turn 400,000 pounds total, built by the Preston Eastin team in Tulsa and headed out to go to work. Nice job, everyone.

Busy shop, steady hands.

It's been a big year at Preston Eastin, and our floor shows it. Before any turning roll ships, someone on our team gives it the finishing work you see here. That part doesn't get faster just because the order book got bigger.

The flag in this picture has been up in our building for years. It isn't decoration, and it isn't a marketing prop. It's the shorthand for how we've chosen to do business.

Everything staged on these pallets was built under it, by an American workforce, in an American shop, on equipment we maintain ourselves.

There are cheaper ways to build this kind of machinery. There are faster ones. We've watched a lot of companies take them. We're still here, still stamping Made in USA on the plate, still answering the phone when you call about a machine we shipped years ago.

Proud of this crew. Proud of what goes out the door.

See that electrical box at the very top of the mast? That is not standard.

This positioner is going into a pit, with the table flush to the shop floor and the base about six feet down. Normal enclosure placement would have buried the controls at the bottom of that hole, which is a bad day for whoever has to service it.

So we moved it up to where the operator actually stands.

7,000 kg capacity. Built in Tulsa, shipping out now.

Please welcome Marshall Oldham, our new Production Engineer.

Marshall comes to Preston Eastin with more than 15 years in engineering, product development, technical sales, and project management, including time at AGCO, Caterpillar, and Gardner Denver. He has worked across agricultural and mining equipment, industrial safety systems, oil and gas, and manufacturing.

His focus here is the space between engineering and the shop floor: catching bad information before it becomes a production problem, and turning shop data into something the team can actually act on.

"What interested me most was the opportunity to have a broad impact on a growing company," Marshall said.

Our turning roll tires are 90 durometer. Here is why that matters.

90 is hard rubber. Press on it with your hand and nothing happens. Put 200,000 pounds on it and it gives just enough to absorb the shock, without deforming so much that it tears itself apart.

Softer and the tire fails. Harder and every shock goes into your bearings.

It is a small number that does a lot of work for you.

Floor turntables, one order, out the door this week.

These run up to 30 RPM, which is fast for a positioner. Too fast for welding. They are built for parts that need to move quick, stop precise, and repeat it a few thousand times a shift.

Meet Prem Thannickal, our new Design Engineer.

Prem describes engineering as applied problem solving. He gets a set of parameters and a purpose, works out how the pieces fit together, then works with our manufacturing team to make sure what he drew can actually be built. The other half of the job is finding problems early, before they turn into big ones.

He joined us straight out of Oral Roberts University, where he earned a BS in mechanical engineering with a mathematics minor, held his Engineer Intern license, and served as vice president of the Formula SAE club. He was the team's aero lead on their racecar and pitched in on frame design. ORU named him Outstanding Mechanical Engineering Student this spring.

Prem says he chose Preston Eastin because working close to the shop with quick project turnarounds means faster feedback, and faster feedback means he gets better sooner. He's aiming to master CAD modeling and go deeper on finite element analysis.
