SMEK Littles (ages 5–6): July 28–30, 2026
SMEK Junior (ages 7–10): July 14–16, 2026
SMEK Senior (ages 11–14, MS 2026–27): July 21–23, 2026

SMEK (Science and Mathematics Extravaganza for Kids) offers hands-on STEM activities like robotics, engineering challenges, and wetland exploration. Led by certified teachers and future educators from SVSU, students also enjoy lunch in the Marketplace at Doan.

There are still limited spots available for our Summer SMEK Camps!

SMEK Littles Camp: Tuesday, July 28 - Thursday, July 30, 2026 (Ages 5 - 6)
SMEK Junior Camp: Tuesday, July 14 - Thursday, July 16, 2026 (Ages 7 - 10)
SMEK Senior Camp: Tuesday, July 21 - Thursday, July 23, 2026 (Ages 11 - 14 and attending Middle School in the 2026-2027 academic year)

The Science and Mathematics Extravaganza for Kids (SMEK) summer camps involve area students, ages 5 - 14, in engaging, age-appropriate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics enrichment activities. SMEK has been offered here at SVSU for over 25 years. Past activities include building a trebuchet, engineering bubble wands, studying organisms from our very own wetlands, LEGO robotics, constructing a mini golf course, and more!

Students participating in this 3-day camp will experience hands-on, project-based lessons taught by area-certified teachers and assisted by SVSU undergraduates aspiring to become teachers. They will also enjoy lunch in the Marketplace at Doan. Registration deadline is June 5, 2026.
