🌀 UPDATE: Hurricane Isaias is strengthening — the time to prepare is now.
What began as the Gulf disturbance we were watching earlier this week has now become Hurricane Isaias, and conditions are becoming increasingly serious as the storm approaches the northern Gulf Coast.
The National Hurricane Center is urging people in the warning area to complete preparations to protect life and property now, with damaging winds, dangerous storm surge, heavy rainfall and flooding all potential threats.
For property owners and businesses across the Gulf Coast, this is no longer the time to think about what you should document — it is time to make sure you have what you can safely capture before conditions deteriorate.
If it is safe to do so:
• Photograph the exterior of your property, roofline and surrounding areas
• Document interior rooms, contents and major equipment
• Capture make, model and serial numbers of important systems
• Save current property records, floor plans and insurance documents somewhere accessible
• Back up photos and videos somewhere other than your phone
• Follow evacuation orders and guidance from local emergency officials
At ForeFront360, this is exactly why we emphasize proactive property documentation. After a major loss, your property should not have to be reconstructed from memory.
A comprehensive pre-loss record can provide a documented baseline of what existed before the storm — helping reduce uncertainty, support a more accurate claim, minimize unnecessary back-and-forth and move the recovery process forward.
Protect people first. Protect your property when it is safe. Protect your information before you need it.
Stay alert and continue following official National Hurricane Center and local emergency management updates.
