🚨 Extreme Cold Furnace Tips (-20° Weather) 🚨

When temperatures drop this low, your furnace works nonstop. A few simple steps can help prevent breakdowns and keep your home safe and warm:

🔥 Change or check your furnace filter

A dirty filter restricts airflow and can cause your furnace to overheat or shut down.

🏠 Keep supply & return vents clear

Don’t block vents with furniture, rugs, or boxes—airflow is critical in extreme cold.

🌡 Avoid big thermostat setbacks

Lowering the temp too much at night can make your furnace struggle to recover and run longer than necessary.

Another customer made the right decision by choosing Perfect Temp for their furnace replacement due to a compromised heat exchanger. They only found out when the wife smelled a weird smell from the exhaust outside the house which prompted a search for the cause. Once our pro got there they quickly determined the secondary heat exchanger had totally failed leaking condensate into the blower cabinet creating an unsafe condition. Thanks to the Vickerman family for trusting Perfect Temp to get you back up and running in no time!
