Today is the final day of Construction Inclusion Week, and we're excited to share how the Deacon team has celebrated the yearly occurrence: the introduction of the Deacon Community Engagement Program.
Focused on four pillars that reflect how we celebrate our people and communities, the new program aims to reinforce the values we've always held in ways that evolve alongside ever-changing cultural, communal, professional, and personal needs. Throughout this last week, our Community Partnership team shared the following goals based on the program's pillars:
- High School Outreach: stronger talent pipelines, workforce readiness, increased company visibility, and support for future staffing needs.
- College & Post-High School Outreach: developing the next generation of builders, fostering connections, and supporting emerging professionals.
- Resource Groups: engaged employees strengthen culture, collaboration, retention, mentorship, and leadership development.
- Business-to-Business Engagement: providing a broader bidding pool, stronger subcontractor relationships, improved positioning for public and affordable housing work, competitive project delivery, and greater community economic impact.
