Gas Permeability Test System is based on the differential pressure method for determining gas transmission rate, solubility coefficient, diffusion coefficient, and permeability coefficient of plastic films, composite films, high barrier materials, sheets, and metal foils at different temperatures. The test system conforms to GB, ISO, ASTM, and other international standards.
Problem: A well-known manufacturer of packaging film was facing a dilemma – the company needed to measure oxygen permeability through a variety of films, both high and low barrier products. The existing OTR tester was designed for medium to high barrier film and was no longer supported by its manufacturer. However, the company also produces low barrier film for fresh produce packaging. These materials have OTR beyond the range of their existing analyzer.
Solution : Labthink provided a gas transmission rate (GTR) analyzer with a wide measurement range, capable of meeting the requirement for high barrier as well as low barrier materials. What’s more, the low gas consumption with no need for a carrier gas, and inexpensive cost of maintenance has the potential for saving the company over $200K over the lifetime of the analyzer.
