Although we make Non-Lead/Lead-Free muzzleloader bullets and airgun pellets, we are not opposed to Lead bullets. It's a matter of giving shooters a choice. Going into the future, there needs to be more focus on trying to collect fired bullets, Lead or Non-Lead. As the human population gets higher, is it really a good idea to leave fired bullets out in the environment? If you shoot on your own land, how might that impact your future property value? Safely shooting into a bullet trap or designated backstop allows these bullets to be collected for later recycling. This saves money for the shooter! Of course, bullets used for hunting might not be able to be collected. However, the majority of bullets are fired for zeroing in and target shooting. If these are collected, the metals can be recycled, and they are removed from the natural environment. Collecting fired Lead bullets is a good thing to do, as it removes them from the environment and also saves the shooter money by recycling the Lead. However, Lead is generally more toxic than other metals. Safely handling it during the recovery/collection process can be more of a problem. Along with Copper bullets being allowed in Non-Lead hunting areas, Copper is more easily collected and recycled. P-Bar Company makes a big-bore airgun pellet for the Seneca/Sam Yang Dragon Claw. It has an Aluminum outer body, with an inner steel core. In addition, P-Bar Company has introduced an all-Copper Pellet/Slug for the .50 Caliber Airforce Texan airgun. Both pellets are non-lead in that they contain less than 1% Lead by weight, which puts them into the "Lead-Free" category in California and most regions. These metals pose less potential hazards while collecting and can be easily recycled. These airgun pellets are currently being sold through Pyramyd Air in the United States only to buyers 18 years and older.
