The History and Future of AQC
Air Quality Control was started in 1980 by brothers Joe and Larry Renda. Over the decades, Air Quality Control built a reputation based on craftsmanship and commitment to providing quality and value, regardless of the size or scope of the project. It was that reputation that attracted the notice of another pair of brothers, Rick Vassallo and Vic Pagano, who brought their vision for the future to Air Quality Control in 2019.
Originally from the Fort Lauderdale area, both Rick and Vic served in active duty in the Unites States Air Force before turning their talents to the building trades. Rick served in Desert Storm/Desert Shield before attending Rutgers University and the University of Maryland, where he earned his MBA. Rick is a General Contractor in the State of Florida and, before acquiring Air Quality Control, was an owner and the CFO of Gardner Watson Decking, Inc.
Vic entered the industry after leaving the service in 2004. He started his career as a journeyman (commercial) steamfitter before advancing to Project Management with Capital Projects for the university systems of Maryland. He continued his career designing and implementing control work for Siemens and, later, as an Account Executive for AMD of Maryland. Vic then returned to Florida to start a new chapter with Air Quality Control as a Certified Mechanical Contractor.
Together, the ownership and team at Air Quality Control are committed to growing the company and serving our Tampa Bay community. We have implemented additional sanitation measures and PPE to keep our technicians, our clients, and their families safe.
