🏡 NOW HIRING: Project Manager — Single Family Home Construction

Since 1992, Shrock Construction has built custom homes, and we're growing. We're looking for an experienced, off-tools Project Manager to run our single-family home builds from permit to final walkthrough.
This isn't an entry-level role. We need someone who's spent real time in residential construction and knows how to keep a job site moving, a budget on track, and a homeowner informed.

What you'll do:

✅ Manage multiple single-family home builds simultaneously, start to finish

✅ Build and maintain project schedules, keeping subs and trades on pace

✅ Manage budgets, change orders, and cost tracking

✅ Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors

✅ Read and interpret blueprints, specs, and architectural plans

✅ Ensure work meets code and passes inspections

✅ Be the main point of contact for homeowners — clear, proactive communication

✅ Solve problems on the fly when issues come up in the field

✅ Order materials and manage timing/delivery logistics

✅ Walk job sites regularly to verify quality and progress
What you bring:

🔹 5+ years of residential/home construction experience (required)

🔹 Proven project management experience in custom home or single-family construction

🔹 Strong knowledge of all phases of home building (foundation through finish)

🔹 Working knowledge of building codes and permitting processes

🔹 Excellent organizational and time-management skills

🔹 Strong communication skills — you'll be talking to homeowners, subs, and our team daily

🔹 Comfortable with project management/scheduling software

🔹 Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

🔹 Leadership presence — able to hold subs accountable and keep projects on track

Backfill is complete and we are ready for gutter downspout tile and concrete out at the Topeka New Home Project

Couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to get some dirt work done!

Lake Wawasee addition foundation backfill went great today. We compact in lifts and the timing of the slinger truck turning loads worked out perfect.

You can now get a better picture of the elevation changes between the new crawl space addition and the upper garage wall that I’m standing on.

Foundation is formed up and ready to pour at the Wawasee addition!

We are well under way with our Wawasee addition as well.

This is by far the tightest site with the least working space we have ever had.

Pretty unique set of challenges to overcome!

Everything has to be done in the perfect sequence to not block access for the next trade

This is the well going in and we had to install this part way through the foundation excavation due to overhead power lines blocking the drilling rig.

Getting started on our new office’s roadside signage.

This is for all 5 units at our multi-unit commercial space and have cnc cut steel signage for each unit with backlighting.

Should be a fun project!
