Cathlina Construction Decks, porches, carpentry and remodeling in Kansas City, Missouri by Volker native Matt Cathlina. I am an ex-union cement mason and laborer.

My name is Matt Cathlina and I’ve lived in the Volker neighborhood with my wife for over 20 years. We rented locally before finally buying our house on Bell in 2001. You’ve probably seen me out walking my dogs Auggie and Winnie (and formerly my older pups, Jimbo, Rudy and Savannah).

I’ve acquired many skills working on my own home out of necessity, and I’ve come to enjoy the restoration process. My interests include running, gardening, playing bass/guitar and working on my cabin in Arkansas. Cathlina Construction was created so I can take on jobs close to home and in the neighborhoods I love. I look forward to hearing from you!

Our Story

My name is Matt Cathlina and I’ve lived in the Volker neighborhood with my wife for nearly 20 years. You’ve probably seen me out walking my dog, Jimbo (and formerly my two older pups, Rudy and Savannah).

I am an ex-union cement mason and laborer and worked for a high-end deck company before venturing out on my own. I’ve also acquired many skills working on my home and I’ve come to enjoy the restoration process.

I started Cathlina Construction so I can work for my neighbors in the KC neighborhoods I love. I specialize in decks, porches, and other types of carpentry. I look forward to hearing from you!
