One of the things we love most about lean-to greenhouses is how naturally they can become part of a home.

When thoughtfully designed, a lean-to greenhouse doesn't feel like an addition. It feels as though it was always meant to be there—connecting the home and garden while creating a bright, inviting space to grow year-round.

Since 1952, we've been building handcrafted redwood greenhouses designed to complement a wide range of architectural styles. The warmth and character of all-heart redwood allow each greenhouse to blend naturally with its surroundings while providing a lasting space for gardening, relaxing, and enjoying the changing seasons.

We believe a greenhouse should enhance the beauty of a property, not compete with it.

That's why every Sturdi Built greenhouse is handcrafted with timeless design, quality materials, and the attention to detail that comes from over 70 years of experience.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘂𝗺 🌿

A compact greenhouse designed to feel right at home in the garden.

The Trillium combines a smaller footprint with the same handcrafted redwood construction, tempered glass roof glazing, and natural ventilation features found throughout our larger greenhouse models. It’s a favorite for kitchen gardens, seed starting, cut flowers, and creating a quiet space to slow down and spend time outdoors.

This garden setup is exactly what we love about the Trillium — beautiful raised beds, evening light, and a greenhouse that becomes part of the landscape rather than overpowering it.

Attached greenhouses can feel like they were always part of the home🌿

This custom 9x12 Artisan was designed with a brick knee wall, tall glass walls, and warm redwood framing to tie naturally into the existing patio and architecture of the house.

The taller glazing creates a bright conservatory feel while still leaving enough wall height for benches, shelving, and year-round growing. We especially like how this greenhouse softens the transition between the patio and garden rather than feeling like a separate structure added afterward.

Projects like this are one of the reasons attached greenhouse designs continue to be some of our favorites.

Redwood framing, glass glazing, and a solid stone veneer base.

This version of our Heirloom greenhouse ended up with a more substantial architectural feel while still keeping the warmth and natural character of wood in the garden.

The Heirloom has remained one of our most popular traditional greenhouse designs for years because it keeps things straightforward: durable materials, balanced proportions, strong ventilation, and a design that works naturally in a backyard setting.

Built in Oregon since 1952.

One of our favorite things about this Tudor greenhouse is how naturally it fits into the landscape.

The steep roof pitch, taller base wall, and redwood framing give the structure a more traditional architectural feel that works especially well in wooded settings like this North Carolina property.

The evening light reflecting through the trees and across the roof glass made this one especially memorable.

A standard greenhouse would’ve felt too utilitarian for this property.

The goal here was to create something that belonged within the landscape architecturally — not something that simply occupied space within it.

That’s where the Nantucket tends to feel different. The asymmetrical roofline, tall glass walls, double arched doors, and redwood framing give it a softer, more permanent presence once integrated into a mature garden setting like this.

One of our favorite waterfront projects we’ve built.

One of the advantages of a lean-to greenhouse is that it changes how you use the space around your home — not just how you garden.

Projects like this often become part morning coffee space, part propagation room, part winter retreat, and part connection to the backyard during seasons when most outdoor spaces go unused.

This Garden Sunroom was designed with a relatively simple visual approach:
• Full-length glazed roofline
• Tall glass walls for natural light
• Attached access directly from the home
• Clean architectural integration with the existing structure

The simplicity is what gives it longevity. It doesn’t overpower the house or feel detached from the property. It feels like it belongs there.

The attached layout also makes everyday greenhouse use easier year-round — from watering and ventilation management to simply stepping inside during colder weather.

Especially in the Pacific Northwest, attached greenhouses can dramatically extend how a garden is experienced throughout the year.

Tucked into the garden, the Trillium shows how much greenhouse you can create in a smaller footprint.

Built with the same redwood craftsmanship as our larger models, the Trillium is designed for gardeners who want a beautiful, functional growing space without overwhelming the yard.

Compact, classic, and made to feel at home in the landscape.

The most timeless structures are often the simplest.

This Artisan greenhouse features our standard design without the optional Style Kit, giving it a cleaner and more understated architectural presence while allowing the natural warmth and texture of the redwood to take center stage.

Tall glass walls bring in exceptional natural light, while the simplified exterior lines create a structure that feels modern, refined, and beautifully integrated into the surrounding landscape.

Designed and handcrafted in Oregon for gardeners who value thoughtful design, natural materials, and lasting craftsmanship.

This beautiful Heirloom greenhouse in Rhode Island was customized with several decorative details, including our arched redwood door, finial, and ridge scalloping for a more Victorian-inspired look.

Surrounded by topiary and hydrangeas, the greenhouse feels beautifully integrated into the garden and architecture of the home.

The Heirloom is one of our most traditional greenhouse designs, featuring:
• 32" base walls
• Redwood framing
• Tempered glass roof glazing
• Timeless proportions inspired by classic garden structures

A great example of how architectural details can completely change the character of a greenhouse.
