This is all work done inside the basement of the same home that we posted a couple weeks ago. Where we finished the bedroom and closet space.

The first three pictures here are on the South side of the basement. We put in the Island, Counter tops and Cabinets. We also installed all the lighting in this project, so everything you see under the Cabinets as well as the Can lights overhead.

A detail a keen eye may notice in the pictures here is the power in the Island. Though not an easy task with a concrete basement floor, it can be done, and was done here. There is a power outlet in this island!

Some little things, like power to an island in a basement with a concrete floor, are not thought about in the initial planning! Many small things like this go unnoticed to the average observer.

I mean, why not!? If it is NOT something that you have had to deal with before, why would you think about the process of running electricity through existing concrete to a remote location?

This is a bedroom in a basement that we recently finished for our client. This bedroom IS the most boring part of this project so we are going to start here!

Starting under the stairs in this room, we finished this in to make it a storage area, and since there was not any overhead space for lighting without blinding yourself every time you turn on the light, we put in a recessed light on the wall. It is a nice, simple and clean look that is very effective.

Moving on from there, you can see this section in the roof that sticks out, it was done this way to give it an appearance of structure and design. In reality, this is hidden duct work. The way the duct work was setup, the homeowner could have had this ugly rectangle piece hanging down from the roof, moved the wall of the closet out, or what we have done here, which was a compromise between both options.

Notice the thickened wall inside the closet to the left, this is where most of the duct work was able to be hidden.

The shelves around the upper half of the closet are just a simple inexpensive way to Maximize the available storage space.
