7 reasons your A/C is running but not cooling your home.
Your refrigerant is low. The system runs but can't pull enough heat out of the air to cool things down.
Your coils are dirty. Dust buildup on the evaporator or condenser coils blocks heat transfer and makes the whole system work harder.
Something is restricting airflow. A clogged filter or blocked vent means conditioned air isn't reaching the rooms that need it.
Your capacitor is weakening. It's what gives the motor the push it needs to start. When it wears down, the system struggles to keep up.
Your thermostat is reading the temperature wrong. If it's off by a few degrees, it tells the system to stop cooling before your home actually gets there.
Your condensate drain is clogged. Most systems shut themselves off when the drain backs up, which means no cooling until it's cleared.
The system hasn't been serviced in over a year. Small issues compound quietly until the first hot day when you actually need it.
If your AC is running but your home isn't comfortable, we can find the reason. One visit, about 60 to 90 minutes, and you'll know exactly what's going on.
