💧 Arizona’s Water Future Depends on What We Do Today
Arizona is facing a serious water challenge.
The Colorado River is under increasing pressure, and new federal reductions will mean less Colorado River water available to Arizona beginning in 2027. While this does not mean Arizona is “running out of water,” it does mean that every community, HOA, property manager, and business needs to take water efficiency seriously.
For HOA Managers and Commercial Property Managers, now is the time to move from simply talking about conservation to actively managing water as a valuable resource.

Review monthly water bills and identify unusual increases, leaks, irrigation problems, and areas of excessive consumption.

Inspect irrigation systems regularly. Repair broken heads, adjust overspray, eliminate runoff, and use smart irrigation controllers based on weather and actual landscape needs.

Prioritize Arizona-friendly, drought-tolerant landscaping. Reduce unnecessary turf and choose plants that can thrive in our desert climate.
🔧 Fix leaks immediately
A leaking irrigation line, toilet, faucet, or valve can waste thousands of gallons. Don't wait for the next billing cycle to investigate unusual usage.

Make water conservation part of the property's regular maintenance program—not an emergency response.
