Help Matthew Heal and Walk Again
Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Strangers,
I'm reaching out today to share my story and humbly ask for your support and generosity during this incredibly challenging time.
On June 28th, I was involved in a head-on collision while traveling at 55mph through an intersection where I had a green light. Another driver, who ran a red light in a turning lane, crashed head-on into my vehicle. The impact resulted in severe injuries, including a compound fracture on my tibia and fibula, a shattered ankle, and numerous other injuries such as bruised ribs and multiple lacerations.
Though the medical team has done their best, my injuries are grave, and after 2 surgeries I still have a long road ahead of me. Doctors have indicated that a below-knee amputation on my right leg may be the best option for a successful recovery.
This devastating news means I will be unable to work for at least the next year, requiring extensive physical rehabilitation to learn to walk again, potentially with a prosthetic. The emotional and financial burden of this situation is overwhelming.
My dear friend Mike has set up this GoFundMe campaign to support me during this tough time. The funds raised will go towards medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and daily living expenses as I navigate this arduous journey to recovery.
