Building more than structures. We’re building stronger communities 💙

This week, our Fite Plus One team partnered with and an incredible group of subcontractors to give back through the Parkway Park Work Day in Decatur. Together, we donated our time, materials, and effort to revitalize a local park that needed some TLC to better serve its community.

Work included installing new playground elements, benches, and landscaping, as well as completing site cleanup, seeding, and hands-on labor. This team demonstrated what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.

This project was especially meaningful to our teams working on the new Decatur Recreation Center at Wilson Morgan Park, who chose Parkway Park as an additional way to support the community they’re proud to serve.

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference. Your hard work will have a lasting impact for years to come 🌱

🌟 Join us in Welcoming Mitch Smith to the Fite Team! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome Mitch Smith, who is joining Fite as a Senior Preconstruction Manager with our Preconstruction team in the Birmingham office! Mitch brings 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in both field operations and preconstruction.

Throughout his career, Mitch has worked on a wide range of projects across the commercial, hospitality, senior living, and sports & entertainment markets. He has also managed capital projects through programming, design, bidding, and construction phases, while leading initiatives to improve systems and standardize processes.

A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Mitch was drawn to Fite by its strong reputation and people-centered culture—something he is excited to now be a part of.

Originally from Decatur and now living in Hoover, Mitch enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Molly, and their three sons, Porter, William, and Crawford. Whether hunting, fishing, or enjoying time at their family’s hunting property, he values time spent with family. They also have a Golden Retriever named Boone. Mitch is an active member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, participates in a men’s small group through Young Business Leaders, and is a member of the ABC Young Professionals Birmingham Chapter.

We’re thrilled to have Mitch on board and look forward to the impact he’ll make on our team and our projects!

We are excited to break ground on a new ServisFirst Bank location in downtown Huntsville. 👷‍♂️✨

Fite Building Company is proud to partner with Matheny Goldmon Architecture + Interiors to bring this project to life, combining thoughtful design with a strong focus on functionality and community connection.

The new 28,000 square foot, four story facility will support both customer services and internal operations, featuring a welcoming lobby, office and meeting spaces, a multifunctional community room, and a rooftop terrace for employees and guests.

The project will also include drive thru teller lanes, an ATM, night deposit services, and a secure vault with safe deposit boxes, all delivered with fully integrated systems and a modern finish throughout.

We look forward to seeing this space take shape and continuing to support the growth of downtown Huntsville. Stay tuned for updates.

Big progress taking shape at Pryor Field ✈️

FIte Building Company is proud to be making strides on the Aleut Hangar project in Limestone County, AL a Design-Build effort made possible through strong collaboration with Design Innovation , Aleut Real Estate, LLC, and Strata-G Solutions.

Recently, our team successfully self-performed a major concrete pour of 680 yards across 16,000 SF transforming the site in a big way.

Alongside the slab work, you’ll see steady progress across the project:
• Block work underway for the office/admin building
• Structural steel going vertical
• Underground utilities coming together

It’s always exciting to watch a project move from groundwork to structure, and this one is no exception. Great work by our crews and partners pushing things forward every day.

At Fite Building Company, we’re proud to celebrate Erin Moomaw, our Pre-Construction Coordinator. Since joining our team in 2023, Erin has played a key role in coordinating bids, managing subcontractor outreach, and supporting our estimating department to help set projects up for success.

This week, we celebrate Erin and all the women who continue to build, lead, and strengthen the construction industry.

After nearly two decades of dedication, leadership, and countless projects completed, we’re celebrating the retirement of Anthony Wells.

Since 2007, Anthony has been a steady presence on our job sites — a hardworking superintendent with years of experience, a strong work ethic, and a personality you never forget. Known by many and a friend to many, Anthony has left his mark not just on the buildings he’s helped construct, but on the people he’s worked alongside.

While he’ll be greatly missed, we have a feeling we’ll still see him around. We wish him the very best in retirement and plenty more time to kick back and go fishing. 🎣

Congratulations, Anthony! You’ve earned it!

Blueprints ➡️ Hands-on ➡️ Built.

Last week, eight team members put their carpentry coursework to the test during a full day of hands-on training. Working in teams of three, they followed schematics to build sawhorses, a 16’ x 2’ concrete form, and a door blockout for a cast-in-place wall — then wrapped up the day by completing a detailed takeoff for a gazebo build.

Led by Chris Moreau and instructors Michael Wilbourn, Nathan Hand, and Triston Russell, the day was filled with teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world application.
