We are a family-owned company with 25+ years of experience providing medical equipment and supplies to children and adults with special needs in South Carolina. In 2000, Palmetto Seating and Mobility was started because there was a desperate need for a durable medical equipment provider in the area. Mark and Dana Mitchell, parents of a daughter with cerebral palsy, started the business and continu

e to serve special needs children and adults in the area. We provide customized wheelchairs, standing frames, gait trainers, adaptive strollers, adaptive toys, bath and shower chairs and much much more! We also provide medical supplies such as incontinence and enteral supplies. All of this is provided with compassion, empathy, lots of experience and most of all love! Our Charleston office has some very special new team members! 🧸💜

You’ll find these stuffed animal friends throughout our showroom helping create a fun, welcoming environment for the children and families we serve. From wheelchairs, to standers, to a Cubby Bed, they help make equipment feel a little less intimidating and a lot more approachable.

For many children, seeing a friendly teddy bear, puppy, giraffe, turtle, or crab enjoying the equipment can bring a smile and help them feel more comfortable during their visit. 😊

The turtle and crab seem especially fond of relaxing in the Cubby Bed! 🐢🦀💜

We’re excited to introduce Lola, our Equipment Claims Specialist! A little bit about Lola:

Lola works closely with insurance providers to assist with billing, claims resolution, and helping families navigate the equipment process as smoothly as possible. She enjoys being part of a team that helps patients receive the equipment and resources they need.

Growing up with siblings who have special needs has given Lola a deep appreciation for the care and support these children deserve, and she is proud to be part of making a positive difference in their lives.

Outside of work, Lola enjoys shopping, baking, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors with her dogs. 🐾

We are so excited to have Lola on board at Palmetto Seating and Mobility! 😊
