Air Amazing was called in when a 7.5-ton rooftop unit went down. We stepped in last week, removed the old system, and replaced it with a brand new 7.5-ton Carrier. Installed clean, set with precision, and ready to perform. That's Air Amazing to the rescue!

Earlier this week, we were called out for a free second opinion after a large company had already been out. The previous tech unplugged the compressor and used a megohmmeter. These are commonly used as sales tools. The reality is, if you hook one of these up to a brand new compressor right out of the box, it will test bad. See below for the tool to look out for.

If you see a tech using one of these, be cautious of the diagnosis that follows. There are proper ways to test compressor windings using quality meters, and this is not one of them.

In this case, what was being presented as a failed compressor turned out to be an issue with the contactor. It was an easy repair and should never have escalated to condemning the compressor.
