A customer called in Oct needing a controls upgrade quick.
The system was reliable,
but it was built 45 years ago on relay logic and manual controls.
And it had remote equipment that required operators to walk 150+ yards just to start/stop or troubleshoot it.
That is lost time and unnecessary risk.
Plus, their controls team is aging.
New techs struggled to support the old equipment.
So after a several years' long battle, budget finally got approved!..but they had to spend it before EOY (just 2.5 months)
Working with Kevin Jones at Advantage Industrial Automation, KEA Automation, Inc's Johnathon Snipes and Deandre Wilson upgraded the system to a Schneider Electric PLC using Phoenix Contact USA’s system cabling.
It took 75 days from walkthrough to startup...we beat the deadline!
Now the equipment is monitored and controlled centrally and remotely.
Support is simpler.
And future upgrades are realistic.
