This! Right here… TOO MANY managers and owners are adverse to riding with their sales reps…. How are they supposed to train, or evaluate…?? If they can’t sell themselves, then they better get someone on board who can; someone that can train and assist the next salespeople that come in to the organization…
Ridealongs, or RAL’s, were my favorite part of the job when I was an RSM for a leading coatings manufacturer… meeting with my dealers and sharing best practices for in-home sales was awesome! I loved getting out in the market with salespeople, to also see what their customers had to say… You can gather great intelligence when you’re actually working in the trenches as a business owner…
