Futron Aviation leads risk management for several projects at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. One of those projects, the Cloud and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System Flight Model 6 (CERES FM6), is scheduled to launch tomorrow, aboard the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Joint Polar Satellite System-1 (JPSS-1). CERES data allows scientists to validate models that calculate the effects of clouds in driving planetary heating or cooling.

Futron Aviation's risk management support at NASA's Langley Research Center continues under the Technology, Engineering and Aerospace Mission Support 3 contract with Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA).

Futron Aviation has led risk management for NASA Langley Research Center’s Advanced Composites Project (ACP), a member of NASA’s Advanced Composites Consortium (ACC), through ACC Phase 1 and into Phase 2 under the Technology, Engineering and Aerospace Mission Support 2 contract.

Six members joined NASA's Advanced Composites Consortium in 2017, bringing total membership to 13 as the members move toward the second phase of transferring composite technologies to the aviation industry.

Futron Aviation leads risk management for several projects at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. One of those projects, the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment III (SAGE III), is set to launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station, this week. SAGE III will continue and enhance research of ozone and aerosols and their impact on the atmosphere.
