Learned this trick from an experienced Refer Guy back in the day…. Triple digits outside for this Physical Therapy business. Sensing bulb line rubbed through on the compressor and lost its charge. Valve stuck in a closed position and not allowing refrigerant to flow. Got the customer back up and running in just a few minutes. Blowing 58° now!
Ordered new part and will return at a later date and not have to rush. Thanks Darry Grant for your wisdom!
BTW Darryl would use dimes from his pocket for these but I don’t carry change anymore!

We in the HVAC industry have dealt with many hazards throughout our careers. We have choked on phosgene gas from burning residual chlorine based refrigerant with our torches, worked in attic’s with fiberglass insulation without wearing a mask, handled and removed plenty of asbestos, breathed in enough dust and dirt to play chicken with Valley Feaver!
