Had a job today that was super unfortunate, customer saw sparks coming out of the panel on the outdoor unit, turned the breaker off called us. Upon arrival found some burnt wires and the contactor completely fried. Changed the contactor out turned the breaker on and system is running in heat mode. Can’t manipulate it, the solenoid for the reversing valve fried so the solenoid wasn’t keeping the magnet pulled for cooling mode, the family had young children so I left a very valuable tool in my tool bag on the system so they could have cooling till the correct parts can get in.. this is how far we will go to keep you cooling! Today was a big milestone for Longhorn HVAC Solutions, we have became officially class C “full commercial” licensed which gives us the ability to work on boilers, chillers, ice machines etc.. if you know anyone or business that needs some issues addressed let us know we would be HAPPY to help! Are air filters important?
Well yes they are, they are very important if you don’t use an air filter especially if you own pets or never change your filter you could run into problems like this! This can do several things to your hvac system other than not cool. It can make the system freeze up, it can make your blower motor run at higher amps and eventually cause internal damage to your motor, it can cause more condensation leaks as well. This is a coil we pulled and cleaned today “this house was a rental that was being remodeled” call us to get those coils checked out and to get a professional opinion on if it needs to be cleaned in place or pulled in place.
