Teachers and school staff do so much for their students and communities every day. During Teacher Appreciation Week, we are proud to deliver sweet treats to 57 schools as a small way to say thank you. We're grateful for the care, dedication, and impact they bring to students every day.

As we close out Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Lorraine Spadaro, Chief Information Officer and Executive Sponsor of Global’s Women Add Value Every Day (W.A.V.E.) Employee Resource Group.

Since joining Global in 2021, Lorraine has helped lead the company’s digital transformation — advancing cloud adoption, modernizing systems, and helping ensure our technology continues to support the evolving needs of our business and customers.

Before Global, Lorraine spent nearly three decades with Delaware North, where she helped shape the technology infrastructure at Boston’s TD Garden and across major sports venues nationwide.

We recently asked Lorraine to share a few reflections on leadership, career growth, and what Women’s History Month means to her.

We were honored to be recognized by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the Spirit of American Award at their annual Volunteer Leadership Conference in Washington, DC this past Friday. Our President and CEO, Eric Slifka, accepted the award on behalf of Global and our employees whose ongoing commitment has helped support the Foundation’s mission to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Over the years, Global has donated nearly $5 million to local CF Foundation chapters through the CFMS Fund, the Global for Good Fund, and signature fundraising events, with the goal that one day CF will stand for “Cure Found”.

We’re grateful to stand alongside organizations like AbbVie, Kroger, Mastercard, and Hyatt Hotels in supporting the CF community — and proud of the employees who make this work possible.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re excited to spotlight Marina Gorboul, CPA, MBA, Global Accounting Services Controller and the newest Co-Chair of W.A.V.E. (Women Adding Value Every Day).

Marina has been part of the Global team for nearly 12 years, starting as a Senior Accountant and growing through several roles to now oversee and manage all operational accounting teams at Global. Along the way, she’s helped guide the organization through major operational shifts — including the transition from largely paper-based accounting processes to today’s fully digital environment. Outside of her day-to-day role, Marina recently stepped up to help lead W.A.V.E., Global’s Women’s ERG, bringing employees together to connect, share ideas, and support one another’s growth.

We’re excited to see the energy and ideas Marina brings to W.A.V.E. and grateful for her leadership across Global.

Fresh food is personal — and for Jose Cançado, it’s also about community.

José is a Chef at Alltown Fresh , where he brings his culinary training from Brazil and a deep passion for fresh, thoughtfully prepared food to every dish. Nearly two years into his journey with Global, José has grown from Line Cook to Chef — a reflection of both his talent and his dedication.

His favorite part of the job? Seeing familiar faces return, welcoming guests into the store, and making sure everyone leaves feeling at home.

We’re grateful to José and to all of the kitchen teams across Alltown Fresh who show up every day to cook with care, creativity, and heart. It’s that commitment that turns a quick stop into something more.
