❄️ Winter Storm and Extreme Cold Prep Reminder ❄️

With a winter storm and extreme cold expected this weekend and week ahead, we wanted to share a few simple tips to help protect your home and heating system:

• Open cabinets under sinks where plumbing is located to allow warm air to circulate
• Let faucets drip slightly to help prevent frozen pipes
• Make sure outside hose bibs are shut off from the inside
• If your heating system uses an air filter, be sure it’s clean or newly replaced
• For high-efficiency systems, check that exterior intake and exhaust vents are clear of snow and ice
• Ensure all supply vents, returns, and grills inside the home are open and unobstructed
• If you have an oil or propane-fired system, check your fuel levels. We don’t want anyone running out during the cold snap!

A little preparation can go a long way. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the snow! ☃️

Hey friends. We’re expecting extreme temperatures this week.
To prevent pipes from freezing during these freezing temperatures, it is advisable to: insulate exposed pipes, disconnect outdoor hoses, leave cabinet doors under sinks open, let faucets drip slightly, maintain a consistent thermostat setting above 55°F, close garage doors, and shut off water supply to outdoor faucets and drain the lines; if you suspect a frozen pipe, locate the shut-off valve, turn it off, and apply gentle heat to the pipe using a hair dryer while allowing water to drip from the faucet closest to the frozen area.
