When composite decking was first introduced, its durability did not meet expectations, particularly in terms of resistance to mold, dirt, and debris, which proved difficult to clean on certain decks. However, recent advancements in modern composite materials have significantly improved their longevity, making them a vital upgrade for the deck we recently renovated.
In addition to enhancing the composite material, we also restructured the deck to address sagging issues, expanded its size, and updated the railing with sleek black aluminum. Furthermore, we increased the stair width 3 to 6 feet and incorporated an additional step to facilitate easier access. With these comprehensive improvements, this deck is now poised to endure for many years to come.

Transforming an empty basement into a two-bedroom space with a full bathroom is an exciting project. This renovation involves opening up the basement wall to install windows in both bedrooms, allowing natural light to brighten the area, which will be used by children as their bedrooms. This house renovation project required a complete transformation. I previously shared an update about the siding and windows late last year, which was merely the beginning. The interior has been thoroughly modernized, featuring a new kitchen, updated flooring and paint throughout every room, a refreshed spare bathroom, and a complete overhaul of the master bathroom. Additionally, all doors have been replaced, and LED lighting has been installed throughout the house.

This marks the beginning of a home renovation project. The homeowners prioritized the installation of new siding and windows before addressing the interior. Given that the existing windows were 25 years old, they chose energy-efficient, insulated frames to help keep the cold at bay during winter months. Future plans include a complete kitchen remodel, new flooring throughout the house, updated interior doors, fresh paint in every room, and a renovation of the master bath. I will provide updates with new pictures as each phase of this transformation unfolds.

Huge shout out to Steve's Roofing for installing the siding, soffit, fascia and gutters. Customers were happy with the new look.

The largest project I have undertaken this year required significant time and focus, particularly when adding structure to an existing home. The screened-in porch addition proved to be an excellent endeavor, demanding a comprehensive range of contractor skills to ensure its success. My clients were incredibly supportive, providing water and lunch daily, which contributed to a positive working atmosphere. They were eager to witness the daily progress as the space transformed into a comfortable area for enjoying the outdoors, free from the discomfort of heat and insects. I would also like to extend my gratitude to my friend who assisted during the first week in assembling the structure; having someone knowledgeable in the building trades made collaboration much smoother.

Although the existing structure was sound, we opted to enhance it with new composite materials that are resistant to rot and require no maintenance. What a Transformation, from a small, outdated bathroom into a more spacious and modern space that can be achieved through several strategic updates. We began by removing the wall that separates the toilet from the shower, allowing for a full glass shower enclosure that creates an open and airy feel. Next, enhance the flooring with contemporary luxury vinyl planks, and replace the existing toilet with a more modern model. Updating the baseboards, repainting both the ceiling and walls, and installing a solid surface countertop paired with an elegant vessel sink will further elevate the aesthetic. Finally, incorporating a tile backsplash that complements the shower will tie the design together, resulting in a cohesive and inviting bathroom environment.
