HVAC Tip of the day we all see it is getting hotter with longer days, it may seem that your home is warmer now than before. What I am about to share with you just may apply to you but not all who will read this.
Your home ductwork more than likely is not design correctly starting from the plenum box to the main trunk line transitioning all the way down to a smaller trunk line. Also not having the correct branch lines coming off of each main trunk line. Each branch line can't be the same size throughout a duct system, on the supply side.
Also, the return ductwork if under sized your system will not pull enough unwanted heat from out of the living space into the return ductwork, to properly condition the home.
I am only talking in regard to the ductwork not being sized correctly not if your HVAC is to small for the property that is another problem. Yes, an under sized HVAC unit will not keep up no matter if the ductwork is size correctly or wrong.
Also not changing your filter allowing it to get clog up with dirt can slow down air movement causing your temperatures not to saturate or boil at the evaporator.
This is just to keep you from calling a HVAC company to come check your system only to find out that you have nothing wrong with your system. Though you will still have to pay whatever the cost is for that unnecessary service call.
So if the air is coming out of your floor, ceiling or wall register & it is cold you don't need to make a service call. You just may have ductwork that is not sized correctly. Especially if you have original ductwork. Yeah your ductwork was only sized for heat back in the day & the homeowner back then made enough money added A/C but never increased the ductwork to support the CFM's for the A/C.
But if you still would like for us to come visit you we HVAC companies say thank you for that service call. No for real please be sure your system is not working save that service call for when you truly need a service call.
