Hiring: Lead Bookkeeper, part time with insurance benefits
Pay: $30 an hour, 10-20 hours a week.
Remote work, Must live in Page County, VA
Company Overview:
Dorothy Technology is technology integrator covering the Mid-Atlantic region. We specialize in high and low voltage integration, security cameras, networking, audiovisual design and more in educational environments, hospitals, hospitality and data centers. The company is women owned and women lead.
Position Overview:
As the Lead Bookkeeper at Dorothy Technology, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our cash flow. You will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring precision and efficiency in all transactions and reports. Duties include financial data entry, accounts payable and accounts receivables, tax payments, account set-ups, monthly reports, weekly cash flow analysis, certifications and licensing for our growing company.
This is a part-time position with insurance benefits. This is suited for a detail loving, highly knowledgeable person who would enjoy helping in the growth and development of an AV integration company.
We are looking for a smart, detail oriented individual with excellent financial modeling skills. This individual must have a highly developed attention to detail, create and develop financial models and think like a financial advisor, not just a bookkeeper. You will have a strong ethical code that embraces kindness, understanding, transparency, honesty and confidentiality.
Hours:
Must be available on Monday mornings 8am-12pm, Wednesday for 2 hours and Fridays 8am-12pm. Otherwise, hours are flexible 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
60% of the Time:
Account Reconciliation:
Monitor, enter and correct all accounting entries to ensure proper project alignment and classification
Accounts Receivable:
Work in coordination with our Project Managers, Director of Integration Operations and VP of Integration to ensure proper invoicing and follow up on collections when needed
Accounts Payable:
Ensure all disbursements and expenses are paid in a timely fashion and accurately coded correctly in quickbooks online.
Payroll:
Handle payroll across several states, ensuring overtime is calculated accurately, prevailing wages are paid correctly and remitted to the states that require this.
Account set up:
Set up accounts with manufacturers, distributors and contractors so that we can purchase and provide services seamlessly.
15% of the Time:
Provide Monthly and Week Reports:
Apply strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communicate effectively. Traditional monthly statements such as MOM, Balance Sheet, AR aging, Project P&Ls, etc. As well as create spreadsheets manually outside of quickbooks for custom reporting that quickbooks online can’t handle such as: week by week cash flow statements.
Tax Reporting:
Account creation and reporting for sales tax, and other state and local taxes
Licensing:
Assist with obtaining business, contractor and security licenses in the various states we work in.
10% of the Time:
Support with PPT, Document Development:
Assist in the creation and development of presentations, proposals, and other business documents as needed
Making Travel Arrangements: Coordinate travel arrangements for staff, including flights, accommodations, and transportation.as needed to help support operations
Bid Development:
Support the bid development process by gathering necessary information, preparing bid documents, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Setting up Accounts for Clients:
Create and set up accounts for new clients, ensuring accurate and complete information.
Negotiating Contracts with Vendors:
Collaborate with vendors and coworkers to negotiate favorable terms and agreements, optimizing costs and ensuring quality.
Maintaining Relationships with Suppliers:
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, resolving disputes and addressing issues as they arise.
Optimizing Workflows and Automation Processes:
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
HR Related Functions:
Gathering documentation from new employees, sub-contractors and ensuring they are entered into our payroll system.
Less than 5% of the Time:
Planning Company Meetings and Events:
Assist in planning and organizing company meetings, events, and team-building activities.
Updating Office Policies and Procedures:
Review and update office policies and procedures as necessary to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Coordinating Employee Onboarding:
Assist in coordinating the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork, orientation, and training logistics.
Qualifications:
MUST LIVE IN PAGE COUNTY, VA. Hooray for Luray!
Expertise with accounting practices
Expertise with Quickbooks online
5+ years of experience in bookkeeping
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google equivalent: particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
