Some final photos from our latest project at B/SPOKE Studios in Mashpee Commons. This shower was actually a repair/replacement. The original shower and wainscot were installed a couple years ago, however, the shower floor wasn't pitched properly which caused water to pool on the floor when in use. With water collecting on the floor, it began to wick up the walls behind the tile creating a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. Not surprisingly, the original tile was installed directly over sheetrock, which showed heavy mold and mildew damage when we demolished the shower.

The wainscot didn't need to be addressed in any way, though we were tasked with making the transition seamless so as not to give the impression that this was a repair.

My client sent me these photos he took of the shower that we installed this spring. Typically, we encourage running the wall tile all the way up to the ceiling, which makes the room feel taller. However, this house already had high ceilings and they wanted to avoid seams in their shower jambs, so we opted to stop the tile at the jamb height.
