How Inverter Systems Have Impacted The HVAC Industry
It’s no secret that the HVAC industry has vastly changed over the years. With all of the digital and technological improvements to products and services, it can be hard to keep up. Regardless, it’s clear that we are in a much more productive, efficient, cost-effective and revolutionary HVAC world – and it’s truly just the beginning. There are several factors as to why and how we got here, but one evolution we’d like to spotlight is the inverter technology.
… the what?! Don’t worry, we’ll explain.
What is Inverter Theory?
Funny enough, the inverter theory is something you, as an HVAC professional, most likely have had hands-on experience with, whether you realized it or not. Many ductless systems on the market are built with the inverter advancement, so believe us, this is our new normal.
In simplistic terms, the inverter theory is essentially HVAC’s cruise control. Inverter technology allows a ductless system to get to the intended comfortable temperature quickly and smoothly. Once it gets to that temperature, it remains steady and stable without your system pulling a ‘goldilocks’ by getting the space too hot or too cold. The inverter system arrives at the set temperature and stays there. However, a conventional, single-stage compressor system has more temperature swings and wasted energy. It takes much longer to arrive at the proper temperature and puts too much stress on the system to maintain it, in turn causing an unnecessary amount of wear and tear. Inverter theory systems not only provide a comfortable room temperature but comfortable airflow and distribution throughout the entire space.
Can Inverter Systems Save My Customer Money?
Ductless systems with inverter technology constantly run at the lowest speed possible, making them incredibly efficient – and yes, saves the customer money! Inverter systems work smarter, not harder, by removing temperature fluctuations that would typically increase the customer’s energy bill. Not only that, but inverter technology also helps the unit stay in good condition, which means a healthy, long-lasting system with fewer repair costs.
Another way your customers can save money is through the Inflation Reduction Act that has just recently passed. One of the primary goals for this bill as it relates to HVAC is to significantly decrease carbon emissions, push green technology and for Americans to save money on their energy bills. It gives customers an affordable opportunity to invest in energy-efficient heat pumps by providing incentives such as tax credits so they are comfortably able to make the switch without financially stretching themselves.
