During installation, decorative flakes are broadcast into the wet coating to become part of the finished floor system.

They help create the floor’s color and texture, but they also serve a functional purpose: they add grip, which helps make the surface safer underfoot than bare, smooth concrete.

After the flakes are applied, the excess is removed and the floor is sealed with a protective topcoat to lock in durability and finish the system.

Garage slabs are typically built with a slight slope to help water move toward the door instead of pooling inside.

When a coating is installed, it follows the existing pitch of the concrete rather than flattening it out.

That’s why evaluating the slab before installation matters. A professional coating system should work with the concrete underneath it, not against it.
