A client gave me some fresh-picked strawberries yesterday, and they didn't last long around our house. This morning they became a homemade strawberry smoothie, and the flavor was incredible.

The difference between fresh-picked local berries and store-bought berries is hard to describe until you've had them side by side. These were packed with flavor and made for a great start to the day.

We're lucky to have local farms and growers in our community producing quality food right here in Wayne County.

I wanted to give a shout-out to Howell’s Homestead for these incredible homemade sourdough everything bagels!

After finishing up a mowing job this morning, I was lucky enough to head home with these fresh bagels, and they are absolutely amazing.

One of the best parts of running Tompkins Hired Hand is getting to work with great people and supporting other local businesses in our community. If you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend it!

The best part of this job wasn't the money...

Repeat customer called again for another 2-acre mowing job.

The grass was tall, the rain rolled in, and I ended up taking a 30-minute break to wait out the storm. Once the weather cleared, I hopped back on the tractor and finished the job.

One of the best parts of running Tompkins Hired Hand isn't just getting the work done—it's building relationships with great customers and becoming the person they trust to call when they need help.

As a bonus, I was sent home with some incredible homemade sourdough everything bagels.

Spent the morning tackling this 5-acre field in 85° heat. What started as a simple mowing job quickly turned into a land reclamation project, with some areas so overgrown I was mowing down trees nearly 10 feet tall.

After several hours behind the wheel, the field is back under control and ready for the property owner to enjoy again. These are the kinds of transformations that make the hard work worth it.

This 3.25-acre field gets mowed once a year, and it's one of the roughest properties I maintain.

What looks like a normal field today was once an apple orchard. Years after the trees were removed, the ground is still full of old stump holes, settled areas, and equipment ruts that make for a rough ride on the tractor.

After a full day at work, I headed out with the Kioti CK3510 and brush hog to tackle this annual cleanup and bring the field back under control.

From A Brushy Mess to A Picnic Area.

What started as an overgrown section of woods is now a clean, usable space where this family can gather, relax, and make memories together.

The amount of brush, vines, and debris hiding in this area was unreal. It took countless grapple loads, staging piles, grading, and cleanup to bring the customer's vision to life.

One load at a time, the area opened up and the transformation started to take shape.

The best part of projects like this isn't the equipment or the work itself—it's knowing that this space will be enjoyed for years to come.

This year has been about becoming 1% better every day.

More running, more reading, more discipline, more hard work.

Not because it's easy but because my kids are watching, and I want them to see that the life you want is built one day at a time.

I'm not chasing perfection. I'm chasing progress.

One mile. One chapter. One day at a time.

Just keep getting 1% better.
