Look at this showstopper…

Beautiful Damascus steel paired with fossilized shark teeth suspended in black epoxy resin.

I’ve worked with some pretty interesting handle materials, but this one is something else entirely!

What do y’all think about this combination?

Another high quality, small shop tool builder. These guys started my love for custom blades. They are to blame for 2MCT.

Give them a follow to stay in the loop on what they do.

First and foremost I strive to offer custom designed handmade cutlery at a fraction of the the cost of most other makers. I try to perfect each and every knife to a high standard of quality. I put my heart and soul into each knife made and if it's not top notch quality in the end it doesn't get sold. I make all knives myself in house, I do not use any manufactured blanks or any foreign materials. These knives are 100% USA made with USA made materials. All my knives are heat treated in house between 56-58 RC and tested for endurance. My knives are made to be used. I use all carbon steels, no stainless, with the exception of the kitchen sets and those are German Stainless. With that being said these knives will require some maintenance. If using on meats or vegetables, you will want to wash / dry and oil down with vegetable oil. If not using on food you can keep them wiped down with any sort of lubricate / gun oil. Do not store for long periods of time in leather sheath without maintenance.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me and if you're ever in my area you're welcome to come by and visit the workshop.

This savage beast started its life as a mower blade.

Around here, steel doesn’t get thrown away just because its first job is done.

It gets cut, ground, heated, hammered, and put back to work.

This one came out heavy, mean, and built for abuse. Walnut scales, brass pins, thick spine, and an edge made more for chopping than shaving.

It still carries a little of its old life in the steel, and that’s exactly how I wanted it.

In Appalachia, steel never has to die.

Frenzy pattern Damascus, black Micarta handles, stainless pins, and a deep ferric and coffee etch that brought out some incredible contrast in the steel.

Each one came from the same billet, but every blade has its own pattern and personality.

Made by hand, one at a time.

Three are already spoken for. One is still available.

$125

This is the Smokehouse Chef’s Knife.

The goal was kitchen knife that felt at home in an Appalachian kitchen. Something just as comfortable chopping vegetables as it is trimming a roast, breaking down a chicken, or preparing meat for the smoker.

80CrV2 high-carbon steel, walnut, and made completely by hand.

Simple, sharp, comfortable, and built to be the knife you reach for every day.

That’s what the Smokehouse is supposed to be.

These two beautiful Damascus blades are for sale.

The larger skinner is a pattern I call The Ridge Runner. It’s a full-sized working knife with plenty of belly for skinning and enough blade to handle just about anything else.

The smaller knife is The Cricket. I designed it as a smaller fixed blade that would be perfect for a young sportsman, but it’s just as handy as an everyday-use knife for anybody who prefers something compact.

Both have beautiful Eastern Kentucky walnut handles with brass and mosaic pin work. Each one was made completely by hand here at 2 Mile Creek Tools.

The Ridge Runner, $1️⃣2️⃣5️⃣
The Cricket, $6️⃣5️⃣

Both are available. Send me a message if you’re interested.

Welcome to 2 Mile Creek Tools.

This started with a hammer, a piece of steel, and a desire to keep alive the skill set that made Central Appalachia what it is. For generations, the people of these mountains made and sharpened the tools they needed with their own two hands. There is something about that kind of craftsmanship that I believe is worth preserving.

2 Mile Creek Tools is a small, God-honoring shop tucked away in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. I believe the ability to work with my hands is a gift from God, and I want the work that comes out of this shop to reflect that.

Every knife is made by hand, one at a time. No two blades will ever be exactly the same. Each one will carry a little evidence of the fire, the hammer, and the hands that made it.

Around here, a knife has never just been something to look at. It skins deer, cleans fish, opens feed sacks, cuts twine, rides on your hip, and gets handed down long after you’re gone.

I’m not interested in making knives that just look good sitting on a shelf. I want to make honest tools that earn their keep.

That’s what 2 Mile Creek Tools is about.
