Be like The Rock.

It’s a heatwave, not a race.

Turning your thermostat anywhere near 65 won’t cool your house any faster—but it will overwork your AC in these extreme conditions.

Set it to 74 or higher and leave it alone. No tapping. No nudging. No “just for a minute” nonsense. Your AC will thank you. Your wallet will thank you. And you won’t have to call for emergency repairs when it taps out from exhaustion.

Pro tip: Your thermostat is not a gas pedal. Cranking it doesn’t make it go zoom.

Hey there! Just wanted to give you a friendly heads up that air conditioners in our neck of the woods aren't sized to handle the extreme heat we're dealing with this week and next. They will struggle in this heat. So, if you're able, please consider keeping your thermostat at 75 degrees or higher to help ease the strain on your AC and save on energy costs.

Oh, and don't forget - cranking that thermostat down won't magically cool your house any faster!

Thanks a bunch, and stay cool out there! 🌞🌬️🏡

We must admit that the advertisements for a complimentary furnace with the purchase of an AC unit peaked our interest immediately. As homeowners, this deal seemed like an exceptional opportunity to save money. Replacing HVAC equipment can be costly, and receiving something for free is always appealing, right?

However, as business owners in the HVAC industry, we had to verify the legitimacy of this offer.

In short, the "free furnace or AC with purchase" promotion is nothing more than a marketing ploy and will not actually result in any cost savings.

To elaborate, the expense associated with replacing your home's HVAC system should not be underestimated. Any claims to the contrary are likely made by individuals with a vested interest in making a sale.

Here's how the "free furnace/AC with purchase" arrangement works:

The customer is required to purchase a top-of-the-line (and pricey) furnace or AC unit, and the company will include a lower-grade unit as a "free" addition. It is important to note that the concept of something being truly free is questionable, in this instance completely false. Businesses cannot afford to give away major equipment without compensating for the cost, as it would not be sustainable.

We are disheartened by companies that resort to such tactics to attract customers. Replacing your HVAC equipment is a considerable investment, and your furnace and air conditioning unit, though not seen on a daily basis, greatly impact your home and all occupants. Customers, along with their homes and finances, deserve transparency when engaging in a significant purchase. Gimmicks, unfortunately, lack honesty and present a distorted truth.

As an informed consumer, ask relevant questions and obtain multiple options before finalizing a decision regarding a new HVAC purchase. Ensure that the companies you consult provide straightforward and truthful responses.

Remember, if an offer sounds too good to be true…

It’s going to be a hot one this week!

Interestingly, air conditioning units in our region are not specifically engineered to handle such extreme heat conditions. In light of this, we would like to offer some helpful suggestions to ensure that your hard working air conditioner is able to effectively maintain a comfortable environment for your home.

1. Keep your thermostat above 74 and then don’t touch it!
2. To keep the cool in and the hot out, keep your curtains and outside doors closed, especially in the afternoon.
3. You may notice your AC running longer each time the thermostat calls for cooling. In these temperatures, this is normal as the AC is working longer than usual to keep your house cool.
4. Give us a call or text if you have any issues with your AC!

With the large snowfall expected, here are a couple of reminders to ensure your house stays warm and safe:

1. Make sure to keep your outside venting to and from your furnace free from snow (photo #1)

2. Keep your gas meter clear and dug out from the snow (photo #2)

3. If you have LP, make sure to also keep the regulator free from snow (photo #3)

Be safe during this winter storm!
