Some projects stay with you in a slightly different way.
We’ve been deep in the middle of remodeling a home for a veteran. It’s been long days, dusty boots, design changes, problem-solving—the usual rhythm of what we do—but there’s been something heavier (in a good way) sitting underneath it all.

Maybe it’s because we're a veteran-owned business ourselves. Maybe it’s because there’s an unspoken understanding there—of service, of sacrifice, of showing up and getting the job done even when it’s hard.

This isn’t just a remodel. It’s someone’s space being rebuilt, refreshed, made comfortable again. And being trusted with that, especially by someone who’s given so much, means everything to us.

We’re grateful for the work. Grateful for the trust. And always grateful for those who’ve served.

This post begins and ends with gratitude.

As many of you know, we at EMTM Construction LLC believe in our civic duty to support those who are unhoused. Because we do this work independently (meaning we aren’t affiliated with any organizations), our approach is hands-on. It allows us to be invited into vulnerable communities, where we can establish relationships and provide direct resources.

Sometimes, those resources can help reshape situations on a larger scale; other times, all we can offer is a warm drink, a sandwich, and a conversation. Each month carries a level of unpredictability, but our intention remains the same: to provide comfort, dignity, and necessity wherever we can.

And that’s where the gratitude comes in. We're willing to do the work, but without the unwavering generosity and support of our community, none of this would be possible.

Tomorrow's drop-off includes 34 blankets, 3 sleeping bags, 47 towels, 18 washcloths, 7 toothbrushes, 11 tubes of toothpaste, additional hygiene products, and clothing. Each of these items has been donated—some by complete strangers.

So, THANK YOU to everyone who has donated and continues to give. We are deeply grateful for your role in helping to reestablish community and strengthen our connection to one another.

This is humanity.

Congratulations to our homeowners, the Bennetts, on their first home! We’ve loved transforming this room into a sophisticated, earthy, and warm family space, complete with freshly painted walls, new double-glazed windows, and beautiful new floors.

The weather is grim outside, so instead of playing in the rain, we’re indoors playing with water. This bathroom remodel is a gift for a homeowner’s in-laws who are relocating to Georgia from out of state! It'll be finished tomorrow, just in time for their arrival.
