Hiring a Contractor

When hiring a contractor, the homeowner should manage their expectations. Meaning, many contractors are efficient and production minded; however, they’re probably not the most detail-oriented individuals. There are other contractors who are craftsman who may take longer but provide a higher quality finished product.

Three things that have to be met in any construction project, the budget, the timeline and the quality of the product. However, remember, it is not possible to get the best price in the shortest amount of time with the best quality…it doesn’t exist. You can get it fast and you can get it cheap. But you cannot get quality fast or cheap!

Since it is impossible to get all three, the homeowner has to decide which area best meets their needs and criteria.

Every construction project has its highs and lows, you just don't usually expect them both to happen in the first week. The boulders were piled high as they were excavated from what was supposed to be a crawlspace, but is now a hole 10'-12' deep.
