The first Marithé + François Girbaud store in Vietnam

AVT is honored to deliver Marithé + François Girbaud’s first store in Vietnam. Located at Takashimaya, the space was developed in line with the brand’s global retail identity and signature French-chic spirit: minimal, restrained, and requiring a high level of precision in every detail.

Within minimalist retail environments, construction quality is expressed directly through material precision, surface treatment, and finishing details. Every joint, alignment, and transition contributes to how the brand is ultimately perceived within the space.

To ensure consistency with MFG stores internationally, all finishing films were imported directly from Korea and completed at the workshop prior to on-site installation. At the cashier area, the MFG logo was CNC-fabricated in stainless steel according to the brand’s international identity standards.

In spaces built around restraint, every imperfection becomes more visible. For that reason, the final level of ex*****on does not only define the aesthetic quality of the space, but also shapes how the brand is introduced within a new market.

Happy International Workers’ Day.
Every Role Matters

Some roles are visible, some quietly keep everything moving.

Behind every project is a system shaped by many people not only those often seen at the center, but also those whose contributions keep work possible each day.

From planning and coordination to ex*****on, operations and support, every role contributes to the whole. There are no secondary contributions only some that are less often seen.

This International Workers’ Day, we celebrate the strength, dignity and dedication of Workers.

One project, many hands. Not every contribution is visible, but every contribution matters.

Intentional down to the last curve

Some spaces just feel right the moment you walk in. Not because of one standout detail but because everything holds together. The warmth, the flow, the way nothing feels out of place.

Chilli Thai at Van Hanh Mall is that kind of space. 330m² of curves running from the walls to the bar to the ceiling, all bending along the same quiet rhythm.

Double-curved walls and ceilings can't be cut from standard templates. Each panel was measured directly on site, custom-formed, fabricated off site, and fitted back in place by hand. The bar counter - a single flowing arc - followed the same process. Every element built as a full-scale mockup before fabrication began, because in a space built entirely on curves, a small deviation anywhere breaks the continuity everywhere.

Behind the warmth is a build that demanded precision on a deadline that didn't move, in a mall that never stopped running. The space gives none of that away. And that's what makes it work.

A Festival of Play, Reimagined

Dream Kids Van Hanh Mall was transformed from a space that had gradually fallen out of sync with how children play today where lighting felt limited, experiences were fragmented, and the overall atmosphere lacked energy. Instead of a surface refresh, the project redefined the space into a brighter, more engaging environment built around movement, exploration, and connection.

Inspired by the spirit of a festival, the layout unfolds from a central core into a continuous flow of experiences. At the heart of the space, a structural column is reimagined as a glowing LEGO play feature, becoming a focal point where children can interact and create. Surrounding it, a multi-level play structure adds vertical depth, while open, connected zones allow children to move freely without interruption.

A vibrant palette is carefully controlled through a neutral base, allowing each area to stand out without overwhelming the overall space. Soft, curved flooring patterns guide movement naturally, while materials such as PU-finished wood and cushioned surfaces are selected for both durability and safety, ensuring the space remains tactile, resilient, and welcoming.

Delivered within the constraints of an active mall environment, the construction process required precise coordination from phased ex*****on to on-site adjustments, ensuring that every detail was aligned with the design intent.

Workshop – Unios | Integrated Lighting in Workplace Design

Workplace performance is shaped by more than what we see.

Lighting plays a critical role in how workplace environments function. Beyond visibility, it influences focus, interaction, and the overall experience of a space throughout the day.

As offices continue to evolve, lighting systems are becoming more integrated with how spaces operate, supporting different modes of work while maintaining consistency in performance.

Recently, a visit to UNIOS offered a closer look at how lighting solutions are developed and applied in workplace environments.

Because in workplace projects, each element from lighting to materials contributes to how the space performs in everyday use.

Hanoi’s heritage, adidas in motion

Global brands don’t just open stores - they create destinations.

Located at Hanoi Centre, the adidas Brand Center Hanoi is the largest adidas retail concept in Vietnam, spanning two floors with a total area of 1,570 sqm. Designed and built as an immersive brand environment, the store brings together sport, culture, and community within a single retail destination.

Inspired by the rhythm of Hanoi’s cultural heritage, the project translates local references into architectural elements and spatial storytelling. From the mosaic artwork wall influenced by D**g Ho folk paintings to the footwear display wall inspired by traditional ventilation block patterns (bông gió), cultural motifs are reinterpreted through contemporary materials and forms.

Together with bamboo-inspired columns and localized artworks developed with local artists, the store becomes a space where heritage, youth culture, and sport intersect.

More than a retail store, the adidas Brand Center Hanoi is designed as an immersive environment where global brand identity meets the cultural energy of the city.

A workspace shaped by the philosophy of simplicity.

Located at Lim Tower 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, the MUJI Global Sourcing Office was developed as a workplace that reflects the brand’s core values: simplicity, clarity, and honesty in materials.

The space is organized through an open and flexible layout that balances shared work areas with meeting rooms and quiet zones, creating an environment that supports both collaboration and focused work.

At the heart of the office sits a distinctive architectural volume clad in reclaimed ship timber, bringing warmth and craftsmanship into the otherwise restrained workspace. Within this timber-clad structure, integrated phone booths provide dedicated spaces for quick discussions and concentrated work while maintaining the openness of the surrounding office.

Above the circulation areas, a suspended steel lighting structure organizes the lighting system beneath the exposed ceiling. This solution responds to the constraints of the existing shell space, accommodating dense MEP systems while maintaining spatial clarity and visual openness.

More than a workplace, the MUJI Global Sourcing Office reflects how thoughtful design and precise ex*****on can translate MUJI’s philosophy into a calm and functional environment for everyday work.

Coordination Behind Retail Environments

In retail construction, coordination is what turns drawings into built spaces.

Retail fit-out projects involve many moving parts - design intent, landlord requirements, technical systems, and on-site construction activities. Bringing these elements together requires careful alignment at every stage of the project.

At AVT, coordination is a central part of the design-build process. Project teams work closely with drawings, site conditions, and technical systems to ensure that design decisions can be executed accurately on site. Issues are reviewed early, technical constraints are resolved with relevant stakeholders, and construction activities are carefully sequenced to maintain progress.

Much of this work happens quietly through drawing reviews, site discussions, and ongoing communication between teams.

Because in retail construction, strong coordination is often what allows complex projects to move from concept to completion with clarity and control.
