Topographic survey work in Makira.

BildBeta is supporting the Makira coastal erosion mitigation project under C-CAF funding, through the GCCM/UNOPS-managed Communities Climate Adaptation Facility.

As part of this work, BildBeta is providing project management and engineering services to support the implementation of hard infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and associated training activities for the Makira community.

The visit was coordinated with the Makira Paramount Chief, officers from the Vanuatu Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC), and officers from the Forestry Department.

A special day for the BildBeta team.

Today we celebrated one year of Roman and Judith with BildBeta — a milestone that reflects their hard work, commitment, and contribution to the company’s growth.

The past year has been highly productive for BildBeta. We have taken on new challenges, strengthened our technical capacity, expanded our work, and continued contributing to safer, stronger, and more resilient building in Vanuatu.

We also want to mention Frank and Anthony, who are not shown in this photo but remain an important part of our team.

As the company continues to grow, we are proud of the team behind the work and grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey.

Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck near Santo on 30th of March 2026, BildBeta was called by the insurer of two damaged buildings to conduct post-earthquake structural assessments of the Sunshine buildings in Luganville.

As a Port Vila-based engineering firm, BildBeta has strong experience in this field, including 200+ post-earthquake damage assessments carried out after the December 2024 Port Vila earthquake. For these inspections, our Principal Engineer and Structural Engineer deployed to site and applied the same technical assessment method used after the 2024 earthquake.

After completing our site assessments and establishing our preliminary findings, we also met with representatives from the Luganville Municipal Council (town planning team) to report back and align on the reporting process, ensuring that all parties work together toward one main objective: public safety.

Our findings indicate that one of the assessed buildings must remain restricted until appropriate repair and strengthening works are implemented (Yellow notice), while the other was assessed as safe for continued use (Green notice).

We encourage the public not to draw conclusions based only on photos or rumours. Structural safety must be assessed professionally.

Good coordination on site is what keeps a project moving forward.

In this moment, Patrick from BildBeta is discussing construction progress with Daniel from PGM during a site visit. As the engineer supervising the project, Patrick works closely with Daniel and his team to review the work, clarify details, and ensure the construction follows the required engineering standards.

Projects like this rely on strong collaboration between engineering supervision and construction teams, and working together with partners like PGM helps keep the project progressing safely and efficiently.

This week BildBeta team participated in ISO 9001 training delivered Quality Solutions. The session focused on strengthening our internal processes, improving documentation practices, and ensuring that our work continues to meet international quality management standards.

The training helped BildBeta team, especially junior engineer and technician Roman, Fernand, and Anthony to better understand how structured quality management systems support consistent, reliable engineering work.

At BildBeta, quality is not only about the final engineering result. It is also about the systems, discipline, and teamwork that make reliable outcomes possible.

A good day on the water on the way to support schools in Pentecost. Reaching some communities in Vanuatu means travelling by boat, and moments like this remind us how rewarding the work can be—good company, beautiful surroundings, and a shared purpose.

On this trip to BENMOTRY Primary School in the southwest of Pentecost, we were joined by Doreen Leona, a consultant engaged by UNICEF and originally from Pentecost, along with Richard Setack, MoET Penama Provincial Maintenance Officer (PMO), and Fernand Mulon (BildBeta – Project Supervisor).

Field visits like this help ensure that school maintenance and infrastructure needs are properly assessed on the ground, supporting safer and better learning environments for students across the islands.

Keeping critical services safe starts with careful on-site checks.

Here, Anthony (BildBeta) is on site with UNELCO staff reviewing the condition of a cable pit—assessing deterioration, identifying safety risks, and confirming practical repair pathways that can be delivered without relocating live cables.

UNELCO’s priority is clear: manage hazards, protect the public, and maintain service continuity. Our role is to provide the technical assessment and engineering support needed to deliver those outcomes safely and efficiently.
