My brother found this in his garage while cleaning it out. He used to collect hats. I gave to him in 1980, so he gave it back to me.

Does anyone remember Master Chief Cox? He came from a squadron to be AIMD Air Frames Master Chief. Never did I serve with a greater Sailor, He always had our backs, and helped to keep us sane, and out of trouble by our two idiot chiefs.

I was at an appointment the other day at the VA when a guy came in wearing a Navy hat, so I asked him what he did in the Navy He said Aviation electronics technician. So I said Oh an AT right, he said yes so I asked him where he was stationed at so he says Aviation intermediate maintenance department at Naval air station Moffett Field like I was an idiot until I said oh so you worked in the glass house, I worked AIMD Air Frames in Hanger 3. Unfortunately I did not get to finish my conversation because I got called back. I am assuming that he thought I was Air Force since this VA is on a former Air Force base.

While at Moffett Field we got a new kid in the air frames shop. Several of us were sitting around talking to him about where he comes from and all of the usual stuff. I forget most of the conversation but as our dip s**t E-7 walked past the kid was saying that his dad was a Navy Captain. The E-7 told him that he was full of crap and that his dad was probably a janitor or street sweeper. He never failed at giving him crap daily about his dad supposedly being an officer. Finally one day we were having a shop party when this staff car pulls up and a Captain gets out and asks where he could find one chief Spurlock. The entire shop pointed the rat out. The captain walks over to him and say's I just thought that it would be nice to come by and meet my son's chief. Spurlock looked like a deer in the headlights, but never once again gave the kid any crap at all.
