Thats the welders packed up and the work space tidied for the last time in 2025. A couple of little bits of installation to finish, but other than that it’s Christmas for us! 🎄🎅

A heartfelt thank you from Jerry Cooke, Jackie Byard-Cooke and Alex Byard-Cooke, to all of our lovely customers, suppliers and work friends for all the support this year. We really appreciate it.

A nice pair of composite gates completed this week!

Another steelwork job ticked off the list. This is a new Arts block for a local school. Steelwork detailed and fabricated within 8 miles of the school!

Not to blow our own trumpet, but the company erecting our latest steel frame on site has told us it’s the best-marked steelwork they’ve ever seen. That makes us incredibly proud, as we never want to leave a harder job for the next team.

This project has been 16 weeks of hard work — from drawing and designing the building in-house, based on the structural spec, to painting the very last weld. A huge well done to Jerry Cooke for design and detailing, Alex Byard-Cooke for project-managing the fabrication, Cooke for working flat out and meticulously throughout, and Jackie Byard-Cooke for handling all the ordering, admin, and support from the office.

This really was a huge team effort, and we’re proud to send it out. Keep your eyes peeled for the finished product!

Big job progress…. Lots of welding, lots of broaching, lots of painting. We’ve enlisted the help of Jerry’s brother ( and Alex’s uncle of course) master fabricator James, so we’re slowly dispelling the old myth. We can definitely say too many Cooke’s do not spoil the broth.

WE’RE HERITAGE AWARD WINNERS! 🍾

Absolutely thrilled to hear the news that the Doncaster Corn Exchange restoration has won the South Yorkshire Heritage project award. We spent a lot of time and love on our part of this project, and would like to congratulate Doncaster Council and all of the other contractors involved, who have all done an absolutely unbelievable job.

IT’S A SIGN!

Here’s one we recently completed for our good friends Torne Valley Garden Centre. The sign had to be this large so we could fit everything they sell onto it 🤣! It really is an Aladdin’s cave for anything from Pet food and Accessories to country clothing, equine supplies and even DEWALT power tools!

This week we celebrated the boss Jerry Cooke’s *ahem* 40th birthday. With that in mind, we’ve had a look back at the work the two of us have carried out since his birthday last year. Huge shoutout to Jackie Byard-Cooke too for the endless paperwork, emails and lunches. Here’s some of our personal highlights!
