30 min.
Did some deburring today. Found out my chemical of choice strips primer so... Little rework is now needed on a skin. No biggie. Need something less potent.

Also found that the concrete wall is leaking... So there's been water sitting under my fatigue mats for a while. Pulled them all up and cleaned what I could. Hopefully some of it will air dry. Will get a bucket of desiccant to soak it up too.

Polished the outside of the Left skin.
Somewhat satisfied... thinking I may get the next level of polish compound and do another pass.

Deburred the skin and hinge, leaving frame for the moment.
Cleaned, scotch Brite'd the interior of the skin, taped, cleaned more, and then primed.

Lots of progress!

Got my polishing gear together and practiced on some scrap skin. Very pleased with the results! First pic is a look across the piece, 2nd is my "reflection" in unpolished skin, 3rd in polished.

Skin is drilled to the frame on the left side, taken apart to start deburring again. Boo.
Hope I don't put it off 2 months again.

General cleaning and started up-drilling the skin to the frame of the LH H.Stab. Gotta clean up a rivet I skipped on the inner nose rib, and deburr again.

Painted! Looks good.
Ordered a small can of Nuvite F6 to start polishing the outside. Not going to go all the way to grade S (Super-final shine) as I know they're just going to sit in storage for a while anyways.

2 Hours 10/28/17

Masked out the metal-to-metal areas of the inside of the skin. Cleaned, sanded, cleaned again and added a slight lip bend to the edge pieces to ensure they lie down flat against structure once riveted in place.
Tomorrow I clean one more time and then add some primer to the metal.

Match Drilled the hinge to the other stab, fit the elevator to one side to see how it looked! I'm pleased. Started match drilling the skin holes to the structure for the 3 ribs without matched-holes. Tomorrow I drill both sides of the r/h stab to #30 holes.

2 hours.
First time in the garage in months. Had to fight off the spiders to reclaim the airplane.

But got skins fitted on the left stab and match drilled the first hinge to the rear spar / top skin.
Little intimidating but it seems to have come out well. Just used a ton of clamps and worked tip to base.

Hopefully more to come on Sunday morning.

2.5 hours today
Finally got back in the garage. Dimpled the 2nd frame and even though I didn't like them all decided to give riveting a try. Ended up liking them and I feel confident the slightly oversize holes will work just fine.
So I riveted the whole frame together! And then did the 2nd!
They're now both in storage. Left side is 100% done, ready for tips and skin work. Right is 98%, needs 2 rivets and 2 bolts torqued.
I'm happy to have finally done something.
